COVID-19 Symptoms

If your child or a member of their household becomes unwell and has a recent onset of any of the following symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) please do not bring your child to school and call us on 01282 776855:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Anyone who develops symptoms of COVID-19, or whose household member develops symptoms, should immediately self-isolate. They should not attend school and should follow the steps below.

The person with symptoms should isolate for 10 days starting from the first day of their symptoms and the rest of their household also for 10 days.

The person with symptoms should access a test using the link below or by calling 119 if you do not have internet access.

Please click this link to find out how you can arrange for your child to be tested - COVID19 Testing

The fastest way to access a test is via a walk-in or drive-in test centre booked through the above link. However, if you do receive a home test kit, this video contains information on how to administer it. Please ensure you register your kit online before you send it off.

Once you have received your results please notify school immediately and we will inform you of the next steps depending on the result.

Anyone who gets a positive rapid test result at home, must also book/take a full PCR test for confirmatiobn of the result. If you are already self-isolating due to close contact and test positive for COVID19 your 10 day self-isolation restarts from the day your symptoms started.
