IMPORTANT - Padiham Green Moves to Home Learning until the Easter Holiday for all Classes - 22nd March 2021

Padiham Green Moves to Home Learning until the Easter Holiday for all Classes …after TODAY!

Due to an increasing number of positive cases of COVID at Padiham Green amongst both children and staff, after consultation with the DfE and the Local Authority, the Governing Board has taken the decision to move to home learning for all pupils after school today until the Easter Holidays. Our teachers, therefore, will return to online learning until this Friday and the remaining four school days will add to the natural circuit breaker of the two week Easter holiday. We will return to learning in school, on Monday 12th April 2021.

The arrangements for Parents’ Evening today will continue as normal (except for Year 3 which is to be rearranged after Easter). Please do not discuss issues to do with COVID at your child’s Parents’ Evening as all COVID details will be posted on the school website. As a result of this decision, our before and after school clubs WILL NOT OPEN after Easter immediately, but we will conduct another risk assessment regarding our school community infections during that first week. We are hoping to open these services as soon as possible as long as everything is satisfactory regarding our school community infection rates; everyone’s safety; and the issue of mixing bubbles.

Laptops

If you borrowed a laptop last time, please make this request again either by completing the survey about to launch on School Spider or emailing us at bursar@padihamgreen.lancs.sch.uk and they will be available for collection from school today and tomorrow.

Income Based Free School Meals

For those entitled to income based free school meals (those who normally get a voucher during lockdown), please either complete the survey about to be launched on School Spider or contact school between 9am and 10am tomorrow morning to arrange for a school lunch for Tuesday – Friday this week. You will need to arrange to collect this from school each day. Vouchers will be issued for the Easter holidays.

Please may we remind all parents/carers that despite school moving to home learning for all year groups from tomorrow, it is still very important to access a full PCR test if your child has any of the following symptoms, available here: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

                                           A high temperature (this does not need to be a measured temperature:

                                           it is whether you feel hot to the touch on your chest or back);

                                           A new continuous cough;

                                           A loss or change in your sense of smell or taste.

Even though school will be moving to home learning from tomorrow, you must still inform us if your child has a positive test result if they were in school at any point within 48 hours of their symptoms starting or 48 hours before the date of the test if they are not symptomatic. This will allow us to identify any close contacts who may need to self-isolate as a result, helping to reduce the spread of COVID19 in the community.  Please email bursar@padihamgreen.lancs.sch.uk

Households should still continue to carry out their twice weekly rapid tests over the Easter holidays as per our website and follow the self-isolation rules if a positive test result is received. All positive rapid tests taken at home must be confirmed with a full PCR test taken within 48 hours.

Please only use a rapid LFT test if you are not-symptomatic. If you or child are symptomatic you must access a full PCR test accessed using the link above.

This decision has not been taken lightly and it is simply based on the risk assessment of increasing numbers of positive cases of COVID here at Padiham Green and the impact on everyone’s safety. SAFETY has been our priority from Day One of this crisis and it is SAFETY that has led to us making this decision to move to home learning today and SAFETY will continue to be our priority.

Please follow the national COVID rules. Thank you.

God Bless, Mark Dixon,

Headteacher, ·迪克森 (王大)
