Admission Arrangements

Children are admitted to Reception in the school year (i.e. 1st September-31st August) in which they reach their 5th birthday.  Before they start school parents and children are encouraged to visit school as an opportunity to take a tour and have an informal discussion with the Headteacher and staff. Please contact the school office directly to arrange a visit on 01282 776855. 

As a voluntary controlled primary school, we do not directly deal with our own admissions and this is a process controlled by Lancashire County Council, however, we are always happy to answer any queries or questions you might have. We do NOT require any supplementary forms for upon application. Please follow the link below to gather more information on how and when you can apply for a school place.

The arrangements for the admission of pupils to primary schools in September 2024 will, as far as possible, conform to the following timetable.

1 September 2023 - Applications open for September 2024 places. 

School places are not allocated on a first come, first served basis. All applications received up to the closing date are given equal priority, but if you miss the deadline, a late application may reduce your chance of getting your preference of school.

15 January 2024 - National closing date for primary applications (statutory).

Primary School Admission Announcements are released on 16th April 2024.

If your child is assigned a place at Padiham Green, we shall invite you to a meeting during the 2023/2024 summer term before they are due to start.  The children undertake an induction programme in school during the summer term and are admitted at the beginning of the new academic year.

If you are notified by the Local Authoriy that your child has been awarded a place, it is vital that if any of your contact information changes after the completion of your application that you update school immediately. 

Initial information and documentation is posted out to parents who have received an offer from the Local Authority, using the parent name and address provided to them upon application.
